Piyush Palkhiwala heads the Maps Group as Chairman and Managing Director since it’s incorporation in 1975. He is responsible for strategic direction and technology development of Maps Group. Under his leadership, Maps has become an integrated biotechnology company in the areas of enzymes and microorganisms. He is responsible for almost all of the scientific innovations developed by Maps in enzyme technology. He is an Enzyme Engineer from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi and has a 40 years experience in enzyme technology. Piyush Palkhiwala is also the Advisory Committee Member of Gujarat State Biotech Mission (GSBTM)’, ‘Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI)’, Department of Biotechnology (DBT) - Govt. of India’, ‘Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) - Govt. of India’ and ‘Entrepreneurs Development of India (EDI)’.

Dipal Palkhiwala heads the Business Operations team as Executive Director-Business Operations. He has been with Maps since 1989 and is responsible for sales, marketing and technical services. Over the past 17 years, Dipal has held a range of key positions at Maps in areas of enzyme production, quality control and sales & marketing. He has a thorough knowledge of the market requirements and environment of products. He is a Commerce graduate with specialisation in marketing from Gujarat University and now has a 15 years experience in sales, marketing and technical services of enzymes.

Anand Palkhiwala heads the Finance team as Executive Director-Finance since 1992. He is responsible for finance and general administration of the company. He has done various courses on finance and management from the prestigious ‘Entrepreneur Development Institute of India (E.D.I.)’, Ahmedabad. He is a Commerce graduate with specialisation in finance from Gujarat University.

Bhavin Palkhiwala heads the production and quality control team as Executive Director-Production & Quality. He is responsible for enzyme and microorganism production. Bhavin has been with Maps for the past 12 years. Since joining Maps, he has played a key role in production and bio-process development, and has successfully managed the growth of our enzyme manufacturing facility over the past several years. He is a Commerce graduate from Gujarat University.

The R & D and Technical team is responsible for innovations of various enzymes, their manufacturing processes and development of new products and their applications. This team is lead by Payal Gajjar who has extensive experience in microbiology, biochemical engineering and process control. She is assisted by a team, which encompasses a vast wealth of experience in all areas of development, application technology, and process technology and, of course, microbiology.

The Business Operations Team is responsible for marketing, sales, including order handling, stock keeping, deliveries and customer service. Important roles in marketing, sales and customer service by a team of experienced and energetic graduates from recognised universities provide assistance to all customer needs. Some of the key members of this team are Sanjay Katiyar, Executive-Marketing; Padma Nair, Executive-Sales & Logistics and Ms. Seema Baranda, Asst. Executive-Sales & Logistics.

The Finance and Administration team is responsible all aspects of finance, investor relations, facilities and continuous improvement functions in human resources planning, development and organisational effectiveness at Maps. Some of the key members of this team are Dipesh Jani, Manager-Finance; Jatin Patel, Executive-Purchase; Hiren Vyas, Executive-Accounts and Haresh Patel, Executive-Works.

The Production team handles the enzyme production and quality control at all the three manufacturing facilities of Maps. The team works round-the-clock to provide optimum fermentation and recovery operations employing advanced automation and controls.
